Hence, these are restaurants that have been highly popular with tourists as well as locals for several years.

Since this list is based on both overall popularity and the ratings received from diners, it includes all types of restaurants including fine-dining, budget-friendly, family-friendly and of course the ones with the best views.

Casa e Bottega

Location and address: Via Pasitea 100, 84017, Positano Italy

The first stop on our restaurant tour in Positano is the wonderful boutique restaurant and design store, Casa e Bottega.

Casa e Bottega is open for breakfast and lunch and is famous for their delectably healthy Italian cuisine.

This is a great place to relish fresh local ingredients of the region and their salad, fish and meat menu is what great Italian food is all about.

I recommend trying their fresh seafood dishes made with great local fish, traditional meat balls in tomato sauce, variety of salads made with local ingredients, citrus crème brûlée and homemade ice cream.

Considering this is a design store coupled with a café style restaurant, you can also shop for Italian and Mediterranean home décor items along with enjoying some good food.

La Taverna del Leone

It is a wonderful family-owned restaurant that serves brilliant traditional Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. They also have one of the best pizza menus in town.

The pricing at La Taverna del Leone is at par with most other restaurants in Positano which is great considering it has a Michelin star.

For many tourists, this is their favorite place in Positano for their great service, great food and delightful ambience.

Their pasta dishes are highly recommended especially prawn bisque pasta and for vegetarians, truffle and zucchini flower pasta.

La Sponda

La Scalinatella is located inside the Albergo Miramare Hotel with a menu that has been developed by Chef Ambrogio.

The strategic location of the restaurant provides for spectacular views of both the ocean of Amalfi Coast and cliffside slopes of Positano.

La Scalinatella is open for dinner and has made a name for itself for providing great Italian food with outstanding service.

La Scalinatella is also a perfect romantic restaurant for date night at Positano with better value for meals than other fine dining restaurants in town.

La Tagliata

Location and address: Via Tagliata, 32B, 84017 Positano SA, Italy

Timings: 10.30 am to 11.30 pm on all days.

Cuisine: Organic and healthy Italian and Mediterranean

Cost: Euro 50 per person for the entire experience.

The reason to visit La Tagliata is basically for the whole experience.

La Tagliata is a terrace restaurant high above the hills of Positano. In fact, there are three terraces in total growing their own organic vegetables, herbs and other gorgeous local produce. They even make their own olive oil.

There is no à la carte menu at this family-owned restaurant. Instead, there is a daily set menu that includes incredible organic vegetable dishes, scrumptious handmade pasta, traditional grilled meats, local wine and a whole lot more.

You can even walk around the organic terrace farm and pick your own vegetables.

There are on-site cooking classes, wine tasting, dancing and a lot of fun.

The average price for the entire meal that includes a number of organic dishes is about 50 Euros per person.

So, if this is something that you want to experience while at Positano, the trip to La Tagliata is worth it.

Breathtaking hillside views of the Tyrrhenian sea, good service, organic local produce and a unique way to spend time in Positano is what you can expect at La Tagliata.

Da Vincenzo

Da Vincenzo is the third Michelin-starred restaurant in our list and their pricing is basically at par with other standard restaurants in Positano.

This is a busy place so you need to reserve a table well in advance or keep trying through your hotel till your last night in town.

Founded over 50 years ago, Da Vincenzo is a family-run restaurant with an impressive food menu and wine selection.

Some of their suggested pairings of mains with white wine is quite a hit with tourists.

Da Vincenzo is just off the main road at Viale Pasitea and has both outdoor and indoor seating options.

This is another place with good food, great view and good service with friendly staff that we expect from the best Positano restaurants.

Ristorante Casa Mele

La Cambusa

The reason to visit La Cambusa would be its location right at the main beach of Positano.

Lately though, it does seem to be catering mainly to tourists who have reported a mixed reaction. Either I have read extremely positive reviews or those who were left unimpressed.

Seafood seems to be the most recommended part of the menu at Chez Black with sea urchin and grilled fish being quite popular.

Buca di Bacco

Buca di Bacco is a historic four-star hotel at Positano with an incredible location at the heart of the main Spiaggia Grande beach.

Thanks to it’s strategic positioning, the spectacular views from the terrace restaurant and wine bar is simply unbeatable.

The entire vibe of both the hotel and the restaurant within is romantic, charming and what you picture of when you think of Positano.

Buca di Bacco 1916 restaurant specializes in traditional Amalfi Coast cuisine and is a must-try.

Any of the fish dishes such as seabass fillet in lemon sauce or fried calamari and shrimps are highly recommended.

Along with great food and service, they have an impressive wine list. You can enjoy your food and drinks from the romantic restaurant terrace watching the sunset while the lights switch on all over Positano.

Ristorante Da Adolfo Di Bella Sergio

Location and address: Laurito Beach, Via Laurito 40, 84017, Positano Italy

Timings: Changes as per season and various factors. Island restaurant accessed by boat. Boat timings 10 am onwards departures and 4 pm onwards return.

Cuisine: Seafood, Italian and Mediterranean

Da Adolfo is a restaurant located at Laurito Beach that can only be access by boat from the main jetty at Spiagga Grande, the main beach at Positano.

You need to reserve a table at this island restaurant and bar well in advance. For guests with reservations, the boat service is free.

The experience of visiting the island by boat, having a nice Italian meal with wine and soaking up the sun is a nice way to spend a day at Positano.

However, do note that in case you want to get back early or the boat is not on time, it can get a bit frustrating and private boat transfers are quite expensive. Also since there is only one option when at the island, you do not have any choice in case you are not happy with the place.

As for food, mussels, grilled fish and local wine is what seems to be the most recommended food and drink option.

Ohima’ Restaurant

You really do get great service and good food with the added bonus of an impressive wine list.

Ohima’ Restaurant has a contemporary vibe with fine art all over the place. The ambience and décor are definitely one of the best in Positano.

With an extensive menu, their seafood, meat and vegetarian friendly meals are all highly recommended.

Adamo ed Eva by Eden Roc

Adamo ed Eva by Eden Roc has a fantastic location with panoramic views of the Amalfi Coast.

Depending on your table, you get spectacular views from the restaurant terrace of the turquoise ocean below.

This is a fine dining restaurant and does come with a cost. However, it is amongst one of the highest-rated restaurants in Positano for both its food and service.

Thanks to its location and ambience, it has a great romantic vibe and perfect for any special occasion.

Since you are here to splurge, do go all out and order the lobster. It seems to be extremely popular with diners at Adamo ed Eva by Eden Roc.

Il Tridente

Location and address: Via Pasitea 140 Hotel Poseidon, 84017, Positano Italy

Il Tridente is inside the popular Hotel Poseidon and I believe it is within the top 10 best restaurants in Positano.

Il Tridente has a romantic vibe that gives you great views not just of the ocean but of the Positano town.

During dinner, with glistening lights and gentle ocean breeze, you get to enjoy wonderful Italian seafood dishes along with other Mediterranean delights.

While all seafood dishes include sea bass with local ingredients and wine are superb, Il Tridente is actually famous for its cocktail bar.

Il Tridente is an award-winning restaurant providing great service and if you enjoy your drinks, do visit the cocktail bar with mesmerizing views of the ocean below.

Da Gabrisa Restaurant & Wine Bar

Da Gabrisa Restaurant & Wine Bar is located inside the Hotel Villa Gabrisa and is known for its romantic ambience along with great views of the Amalfi Coast.

Many of the diners appreciate the moderately priced menu. It is great value for money considering the food quality, good service and dishes that can be considered as fine dining.

Just as other top restaurants in Positano, Italy, you can’t go wrong ordering seafood at Da Gabrisa including its pasta and sea bass dishes.

What does stand out are their desserts. You can enjoy the best of scrumptious Italian sweet dishes including the famous tiramisu, soufflé and gelatos.

Note being inside a hotel, there is some confusion with respect to the restaurant’s timings for outside guests. It is recommended to call in advance and make a reservation while confirming timings.

With an elegant, Mediterranean ambience, Next2 is a Michelin-starred restaurant in the Viale Pasitea area of Positano.

Apart from the usual fish and meat menu, you do have some beautiful options for vegetarians. The zucchini flower with stuffed ricotta being a real highlight.

There is both indoor and outdoor terrace seating. The vibe at both areas is basically that of elegance.

Next2 is a great place to taste authentic Italian pasta with good service and some wonderful desserts.

Zass Restaurant

Zass Restaurant is located inside the Hotel Il San Pietro di Positano.

It is at Laurito which can be accessed by a 10-minute water taxi ride from the main beach jetty at Positano.

You basically need to visit Zass Restaurant for the experience.

Hotel Il San Pietro di Positano is a cliffside hotel. The coolest aspect of it is that you need to access a cave with an elevator to go to the hotel.

So you can imagine the ambience, incredible cliffside views of Amalfi coast and simply the overall views of Positano town.

I feel this Michelin-starred restaurant has one of the most romantic vibes in Positano and its outside patio for drinks has spectacular views that will just melt your heart.

Seafood and their specially crafted tasting menu seem to be the main culinary attraction of Zass.

Ristorante Bruno

Location and address: Via Cristoforo Colombo 157, 84017, Positano Italy

Timings: 11.30 am to 11 pm on all days.

Cuisine: Italian and Mediterranean

Cost: Moderate

Ristorante Bruno is located right on the main road at Via Cristoforo Colombo. Depending upon your preferences, this could be either a good thing or a bad thing.

Good, since the winding roads in Positano are one of it’s main attractions and you get spectacular views of the Amalfi Coast, if seated at the café style outdoor area.

Bad, you have to deal with the noise and traffic on the main road. So, the choice is yours.

I personally would recommend Ristorante Bruno if you want to feel part of Positano town and have marveled at the roadside cafés that we see in movies.

Ristorante Bruno is also a moderately priced restaurant and hence not too tough on your pocket.

Also being roadside with views of the ocean below, you get breathtaking sunsets and could be a great option for dinner.

Ristorante Mirage

Location and address: Hotel Posa Posa, 4th Floor, Viale Pasitea, 165, 84017 Positano SA, Italy

Timings: 1 pm to 11 pm on all days.

Cuisine: Italian and Mediterranean

Cost: Moderate – Value for money

Ristorante Mirage is located inside Hotel Posa Posa on the fourth floor.

It has both indoor seating and terrace seating. Needless to say the terrace is where you need to be for a romantic vibe plus some of the best views of Positano town you can experience.

Ristorante Mirage has quickly become one of the highest-rated restaurants in Positano mainly because of its moderate value for money pricing, superb views and of course, great food.

If you are craving for a nice plate of risotto or seafood pasta, you need to be at Ristorante Mirage. Their panna cotta with an interesting berry sauce is also highly recommended.

Rifugio Dei Mele

Location and address: Via Cercole, 1 – 3, 84017 Nocelle, Positano Italy

Timings: 6.30 pm to 10 pm

Cuisine: Fine dining steakhouse, Italian and Mediterranean

Rifugio Dei Mele is in Nocelle, a charming and quiet part of Positano that is high up on a mountain. In fact, the road to Rifugio Dei Mele is known as the Path of the Gods.

It would take a good 30-minutes to drive up to Rifugio Dei Mele at Nocelle and then 5 minutes of stairs, but if you are after the best possible views in Positano, then the trip is well worth it.

The location is also great to experience the mountain village as life can seem quite different from rest of the town.

Of course the main reason to visit Rifugio Dei Mele would be their exceptional food, great service and an ambience that is romantic and charming.

Just remember, it is a fine dining restaurant and hence by no means is it cheap.
